A Story of Sisterhood

Olivia and Meg's journey began in their early twenties. The pair quickly became inseparable once they met after moving across the country from their respective homes to work in Southeast Wyoming. Although working in hospitality at the time, they both dreamed of one day owning their own businesses. Their bond and mutual interests led to a wonderful friendship that would eventually become sisterhood when Meg married Olivia’s brother, Alejandro, in 2020.

Nearly ten years later, the two have created a business built on their respective backgrounds in events, hospitality, food and beverage, and design.

Catalina Weddings and Events was born after years of collecting pieces, experiences, and ideas. Friends and sisters, Olivia and Meg decided to create Catalina Weddings and Events as a way to share what they love with the world.

Meet the Team

  • Co-Owner, Lead Event Coordinator

    Olivia Matos offers over 8 years of event experience to the CWE team. Her passion for events was first sparked in high school with an assignment to plan a wedding, which she chose a Jane Austen theme for school (she got an A)! Her interest and skill then skyrocketed after planning several family and friend’s events including weddings and anniversary parties, as well as taking on an Event Manager position with a local winery.

    A Chester County native, she loves the beauty this county has to offer and yearns to make every event here shine. Olivia has a talent for bringing complex and detailed visions to life and has a passion for quality customer service.

    Olivia has called Meg her sister and best friend from almost the first time she met her. Naturally she believed they were a perfect pair to run a business together. She resides in Chester County with her two cats Darcy & Fitz(william).

  • Co-Owner, Creative Director

    Meg Matos brings over 10 years of guest service experience to the table, having worked in hospitality all over the country since the young age of fifteen. Hailing from Florida, Meg traveled the country before finding a home in Southeastern Pennsylvania in the fall of 2017. She has a passion for details, creativity, and helping others.

    Meg’s background in social media management, and passion for creativity allow her to shine as the Creative Director for CWE.

    Meg joined the Matos family in 2020 when she married her husband, Alejandro. Meg and Alejandro reside in Chester County, PA with their cat, Acadia, and their dog, Coquina.

  • Assistant Coordinator

    Priya Selvarathinam brings a wide range of experience to the CWE team, from corporate to hospitality to training. Across all of it, one thing has stayed true: bringing joy to people and making everyday moments feel special.

    When she's not helping CWE plan special moments for people, she's running Designs By The Happy Notice, her small business where she makes everything from wedding signage, to personalized gifts, to keepsakes. That maker's eye means she notices the small details that turn a nice day into an unforgettable one, and she loves nothing more than seeing a plan come together exactly the way a client imagined it.

    Priya lives in West Chester, PA with her husband, three cats, and a flock of chickens who firmly believe they're in charge. Whether she's wrangling a guest list or a hen, she brings the same warmth, patience, and sense of fun to everything she does.

  • Assistant Coordinator

    Marissa Kervinen brings over five years of customer service and hospitality experience, along with a genuine passion for building strong relationships and supporting meaningful events. She earned her marketing degree from West Chester University, where her love for event planning and coordination began to take shape. As a lifelong ice hockey fan, Marissa was able to combine two of her passions while playing for the West Chester Women’s Ice Hockey team and interning as a Social Media and Event Planning Assistant for both the men’s and women’s hockey teams.

    Creating positive experiences that leave a lasting impression has always been important to Marissa. She was born and raised in Chester County and is excited to give back to her community by helping bring beautiful, memorable events to life with the CWE team.

    Working alongside such passionate and dedicated professionals has motivated her to continue growing in event planning and coordination. She hopes to make a lasting impression through her efforts at CWE by contributing to beautiful, memorable experiences for every client.
